SPECIALIZED FISHING PROGRAM:
Day 1. Arrival to the Sana, capital of Yemen. Pick up at the Sana airport. Transfer to the Hilltown hotel. Overnight.
Day 2. Flight to the Socotra Island. Transfer to Sana airport. Flight to Socotra. Transfer to the hotel in Hadibu. Excursion in Ayhaft canyon. Lunch in a hotel. Trip to Dlesha beach. Dinner and overnight in Hadibu.
Day 3. Diqsam highland and Ameq coast. Breakfast. Car trip to the Diqsam highland, famous for its sceneries. Endemic “dragon’s blood tree” is abundant in this area. Sightseeing in Di Erh canyon. Lunch. Trip to Ameq coast. Fishing/snorkeling. Excursion to Di Gub cave and giant Zahiq sand dunes. Dinner and overnight in the camp, in Ameq.
Day 4. Arher. Breakfast. Transfer to the fishing place in Hadibu. Saltwater fishing. Lunch. Transfer to Arher. Dinner and overnight in the camp.
Day 5. Di Hamri. Di Hamri is the ocean nature reserve. Fishing around coral reefs. Excursion to the local fishermen village. Transfer to Hadibu. Dinner. Overnight in hotel or seaside camp.
Day 6. Qalansia, Ditwah bay preserve. Breakfast. Transfer to Qalansia – ancient fishermen town. Transfer to Ditwah bay preserve. Sightseeing. Dinner and overnight in Ditwah seaside camp.
Day 7. Shaub. Breakfast. Boat trip to Shaub. Dolphins are always seen in this area. Sea side lunch. Fishing. Boat trip to Qalansia in the afternoon. Transfer to Hadibu. Dinner and overnight.
Day 8. Last day in the Island. Spear time (blue water fishing for tuna can be arranged).
Day 9. Sana. Breakfast. Flight to Sana. Transfer to Hilltown hotel. Lunch. Excursions in Sana. Farewell dinner with traditional Yemen courses. Overnight in Hilltown hotel.
Day 10. Departure. Breakfast. Couple of hours of spear time. Transfer to the airport. Departure.
TOUR DURATION: with all the flights, whole trip can run on up to 14 days. The program can be shortened on request.
SEASON: January – April. Climate in The Island is mild, oceanic. Air temperature varies between 28 and 38 centigrade year round.
PRICE: starting at 1800 EUR per person.
PRICE INCLUDES: accommodation based on double occupancy; full board; all local transfers (minivan in Sana and Toyota 4x4 in Socotra); English speaking guide; boats for fishing; local fees.
PRICE DOESN’T INCLUDE: flight costs; dinner on the 1st and 10th day; additional hotel fees (telephone, mini-bar, tips); fishing gear rental costs; insurance; visa fee.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: travelers should be ready for vast altitude variations and prolong unsurfaced road trips. It is recommended to have 2 or 3 kits of tropical wear (light shorts, thin pants, tropical long-sleeved (!) shirts, cap with long peak, tropical hat, couple of bandanas, polarized sunglasses of good quality); personal hygiene set; sun protection crème; personal medicine kit.
