Grayling safari
Grayling is the most abundant local salmonids - it could be found in most rivers of Neris and Nemunas watersheds. Therefore, grayling is the main target species of Lithuanian flyfishers. Most popular grayling rivers are Merkys, Šventoji and Žeimena. But it also could be found in some of their tributaries. Average size of Lithuanian grayling varies between 12 – 14 inches, but specimens of 15 – 16 inches are not uncommon either. Most of the fishing is done using “czhech nymphing” or wet fly fishing technique.

Wild brown trout safari
If You intend to pursue wild Lithuanian brown trout, we highly suggest to explore small tributaries of Neris, Merkys and Šventoji rivers. Usually it would be Muse, Lomena, Ula, Gruda, Spengla, Siesartis and Virinta. Although fishing these creeks could be quite challenging - accurate presentations are required sometimes, it could be very rewarding. By choosing right place and tactics, one might catch a dozen brownies a day, measuring 10-15 inches in length.

Average weight of salmon cought here varies between 5-7 kilos, sea-trout - 2 kilos. 10 kilos salmon are not uncommon either. And if You'll be particularly lucky, You may even get engaged with leviathan weighing over 20 kilos.
